KinderBraille… the power to create multi-media Braille files for fun and learning

KinderBraille logo

Using technology effectively enables independence within areas such as employment, communication, personal endeavours, as well as meeting the increasingly technology based social needs, which today’s generation are almost ‘expected’ to be proficient with. Developing these skills will also help equip children with vision impairment with skills to support their education.

KinderBraille is a new tool aimed at providing opportunities for children who use Braille to participate in early literacy experiences on an equal footing with their sighted peers from the earliest possible age.

KinderBraille is a new PC application that can be used by parents and teachers to create a completely novel media – electronic files that contain hard copy Braille, digitised sounds, music and recorded speech.

KinderBraille is a joint project for the Mountbatten by Harpo and Sonokids.
